Privacy

No accounts, no email sign-ups, no logins, no profiles, no preferences saved on a server. Nothing about you is stored in a database Atlynx controls, because there is no such database. Your map settings stay in your own browser.

The site is served through Cloudflare (opens in a new tab), which logs the basic technical information every web request carries: IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser’s user-agent string and the referrer. Cloudflare keeps these logs for a short period, under its own policy, and uses them to serve the site and protect it from abuse and attacks. Atlynx looks only at aggregate traffic counts, never at individual visitors.

Map data is served by third-party tile providers (CARTO and OpenStreetMap, Esri, NASA, the UN ClearMap) and from Cloudflare R2 (opens in a new tab), where Atlynx’s own border data lives. When your browser fetches a tile, the request goes to that provider, which may log it; its privacy policy applies. The providers are listed on Sources. These requests carry nothing beyond standard web request information, because Atlynx has no name or email of yours to send.

Atlynx sets no cookies and runs no advertising or third-party analytics. Cloudflare may set a single technical cookie (__cf_bm) to tell people from bots and protect the site. It is a security measure, not a tracking cookie, and is described in Cloudflare’s cookie documentation (opens in a new tab). Your browser may also keep map tiles in its own cache to load faster; Atlynx neither controls nor reads that cache.

Under the GDPR you can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, and complain to your national data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (opens in a new tab)). Atlynx holds no database of users, so in practice there is nothing about you to access or delete. To confirm this or ask anything else, write to [email protected].
