Syria — De Facto Map
Syria — Syrian Arab Republic · Post-Assad fragmented state.
Interactive de facto map of Syria. Following the collapse of the Assad regime in December 2024, Syria remains a fragmented country. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham-led forces now control Damascus and much of the western interior, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) govern the northeast, Turkey and its proxies occupy a strip of the north, Israel has extended direct control over the Golan buffer and southern Syria, and remnants of the Islamic State persist in the Syrian desert. This map shows the real patchwork of control in post-Assad Syria.
