SDF–Damascus Shared Control — SDF–Damascus Shared Control · Ended 22 August 2026.

A strip of northern Syria along the old contact line, administered jointly by the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces while the SDF was being folded into the Syrian state. Government institutions and SDF structures operated side by side there, and control on the ground was negotiated locally rather than settled. The arrangement ended with the SDF itself in August 2026: the strip is now ordinary Syrian government territory.
