Haitian gangs — De Facto Map
Haitian gangs — Armed gangs · Haiti · About 70% of Port-au-Prince.
Haiti's gangs: armed groups of the capital and the Artibonite plain, most of them joined since September 2023 in the Viv Ansanm alliance, which the UN Security Council has placed under sanctions. Politicians, businessmen and police officers still arm and pay them when it serves their interests, the UN's experts report. The map draws their ground as the UN mapped it in June 2026: about 70% of the Port-au-Prince area, the Cul-de-Sac plain east to the Dominican border, towns of the Centre department and pockets of the lower Artibonite. They live off road tolls, kidnapping and extortion. Since March 2026 the alliance has fought itself: 613 people were killed by the end of July, despite a truce signed on 5 June.
