The islands of the Congo River where it divides the Republic of the Congo from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The boundary France and Belgium drew along the river in 1885 was never fixed through the islands outside Pool Malebo, and instability on both banks has left it unsettled ever since. Neither state is pressing a claim. The map draws them as undetermined, striped in both countries' colours.
