Allied Democratic Forces — De Facto Map

Allied Democratic Forces — Jihadist insurgency · North Kivu and Ituri · Islamic State affiliate.

The Allied Democratic Forces, a movement born in Uganda that now fights as the Islamic State's Central Africa Province. It holds no towns: it strikes from the forests of Beni, Lubero, Mambasa and Irumu, and is among the deadliest groups in the country — 287 civilians killed between March and June 2026, 54 of them in one attack at Bafwakoa. It has spread north into Haut-Uélé, where it burned an army barracks near Mungbere in May. The map dots its area over the Congolese colour — activity, not control — and marks separately the eastern part, where the Ugandan army hunts it.
