- Second Battle of Herdonia — The proconsul Fulvius Centumalus is killed with eleven military tribunes when Hannibal turns on his army outside Herdonia; the town itself is then burned by its own protector. (Livy 27.1)
- Herdonia erased by its own side — Suspecting the town would defect, Hannibal deports its people to Metapontum and Thurii, executes the leading men and burns it. (Livy 27.1)
- Acerrae repopulated — The senate lets the scattered Acerrans rebuild the town Hannibal burned six years before; Campania is being put back together. (Livy 27.3)
