The Picentes — Roman Republic › Socii (Italic Allies).

The Picentes hold the Adriatic slope of central Italy, a fertile coastal strip subdued by Rome in 269–268 BC. To their north stretches the ager Gallicus, won from the Senones and parcelled out to Roman settlers under the land law of Flaminius. Reliable Adriatic allies, the Picentes guard Italy’s eastern seaboard and supply infantry to the allied wings.
