Lissos — Roman Republic › Roman Protectorates in Greece.
Lissos marked the northern limit of the Roman protectorate on the Illyrian coast. By the terms imposed after the wars, no more than two unarmed Illyrian vessels might sail south of it — the boundary set against Queen Teuta and the Ardiaei to keep their pirate fleets in check.
