Cilicia Tracheia — Ptolemaic Egypt › The Overseas Empire.

"Rough Cilicia" — the rugged, harbour-pocked coast west of the Cilician plain, prized for its timber and its anchorages. The Ptolemies hold it as a naval march directly facing the Seleucid lands of the Levant, a watch-post on the seam between the two great kingdoms and a nursery of shipbuilding wood for the fleet.
