The Daorsi in 218 B.C.
The Daorsi — Illyrian Tribes.
A people of the lower valley of the Naro, the great river of the southern coast, set among the trading routes where the Illyrian interior meets the sea. More than their neighbours they have taken to Greek ways: they strike their own handsome coinage in the Hellenic manner, with a ship and a fine-wrought head — the silver of a people grown wealthy and worldly on the commerce of the river-mouth and the Adriatic.
