The Tectosages in 218 B.C.

The Tectosages — Galatians.

The Tectosages — the central nation of the Gauls, holding the country about Ancyra in the very heart of Galatia. Theirs is the great stronghold and the meeting-place of the roads, the firm centre between the Tolistobogii of the west and the Trocmi of the east. Like their kinsmen they are split into four tetrarchies and share in the common council of three hundred at Drynemeton.
