The Aedui in 218 B.C.
The Aedui — Celtic Tribes.
A leading people of the central interior, holding the rolling country between the upper Liger and the Arar — a wealthy and populous confederation whose chieftains and horsemen make them one of the great powers of inner Gaul. Their strength rests on broad farmland, herds, and the river-trade that flows down the Arar toward the Rhone.
