Celtiberi in 218 B.C.
Celtiberi — Carthage › The Iberian Client Tribes.
The fierce Celtiberians of the eastern highlands, the most warlike people of the interior and the great mercenary reservoir of the western Mediterranean — they served on both sides in the Punic wars. Their double-edged short sword, of excellent Spanish steel, so impressed the Romans that the legions adopted it as the gladius hispaniensis.
