The ancient Arcadian city of Mantinea, which revolted to Sparta in the Cleomenean War; recaptured, it was razed and its people scattered, then refounded as Antigoneia in honour of Antigonus Doson — a name it bears in 218 as a token of Macedon’s shadow over the League.
