Arcadia in 218 B.C.

Arcadia — Achaean League.

The central highlands of the Peloponnese — a land of mountain cantons and stubborn cities. Mantinea, razed and refounded as Antigoneia by Antigonus Doson after the Cleomenean War, Tegea on the Spartan march, and Orchomenos among the upland plains. Arcadia is the contested heart of the peninsula, fought over by the League, Sparta and Macedon alike.
